I am a functional footwear enthusiast living in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been working in footwear for the last 12 years.

Before footwear I was making art. I went to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and studied Sculpture, Ceramics and Art History.

I have always loved sneakers and decided to try to design and make shoes. I attended the London College of Fashion in their Cordwainer Footwear Design programme and graduated with merit plus classification. In London, I discovered traditional welted and sewn leather footwear and fell in love with the craft.

I spent time Interning with Cole Haan (Nike) and Vivobarefoot.

I have worked for various shoe companies both as a shoemaker and in the design and development departments. I have also worked in sales, marketing and managing factory production. My various positions have given me a well-rounded view of the footwear industry. My past work includes roles with:

·         Dayton Boots

·         Westerly Handmade Shoes

·         Perry Ercolino

·         No. One System Footwear

·         Viberg Boots

More recently I have been working in orthopaedic footwear. It has given me a thorough knowledge of the foot and its mechanics.

I am interested in creating well rounded footwear. Something easy to wear, anatomical in fit and functional in a variety of climates and terrains. My plan is to combine natural upper materials, traditional footwear making techniques and the ideas found in athletic and rugged outdoor footwear to create something that I feel is missing from the current footwear market.
